"You are a girl. A girl must get married at a right age. We are not forcing you to marry right now but if we start searching from today, then we may be able to find someone suitable for you. Afterall, 2 years is all we have."
She was just 19 years old when she heard this from her mother. She had just started living her life confidently and learned what her real passion was but her mother's word started disturbing her. She was talented, obedient and everybody in her college recognized her as a topper. She couldn't understand what was her mistake and when did she make it. Afterall, she believed she had always made her parents proud and happy. Whole night she kept on thinking, reasoning if her parents were tired of her or had they had any doubts in her ability to be an achiever. If not so, then why were they in such a hurry for finding the groom. Are they scared that their daughter may start loving a boy from different caste?
Sometimes, she also felt that she might be overreacting because the society in which she lived, every girl had to face the same situation. But her mind was not able to agree that, such thing which is disturbing her mind can't be right. Everything has a time. Maybe when the actual time comes, it will sound normal but at the moment when she is still in her teens, such things can only disturb her and stress her. It only made her think that 'she' being a girl has no right to fulfill her dreams. Afterall, society becomes proud of achiever sons. Can't a daughter be an achiever and marry whenever she wants?
